Last Sunday I took my mom to a flea market. It was such a perfect day to be outside and I saw these antique bread knives shining beautifully under the tree.  I’m not sure how old they are, but they’re made by Joseph Elliot & Sons Ltd.  Antiques are great objects for painting indeed!

One more thing, I want to announce that recently I launched my website!  It took me such a long time since I did it all by myself who is so low tech.  You will see my portrait and flower drawings at the age of 5 years old in ‘About Me’.  Thanks to my wonderful mom who kept them for such a long time.  I found them when I visited my hometown this year.  I took some photos of another drawings as well, so maybe I will upload in near future on this blog.

 Grape season has come! 

I started to paint with black and white in order to get the right value before glazing.

Glazing takes time and I need to be a little patient, but once I started to see the rich and complex colors in a paining, it’s definitely worth doing it!

Surprisingly it turned out to be her exact life size without knowing since I worked out from a small photo.  The customer who lost the dog told me she could feel her so much out of the painting and totally loved it.  I’m so glad that I could help her in this way.

Heart of Mine

When I was a teenager, my dad gifted me this necklace.  It's hard to see in the painting, but there are 3 little hearts in the small circle.  I remember my little sister got the one with stars and I was happy getting the one with hearts because it's my favorite symbol.  I wear this quite often ever since then.

I painted from a photo I took at beauty salon on the other day.  I took the necklace off to get a hair cut and put it on the tray.
